The vast range of accessories from new mobile phone accessory shops means that there are umpteen options to choose from when it comes to that part of the business. Much depends on the type of use, so the entertainment and media user may prefer the Apple system to the business user who has traditionally gone with the Blackberry. The general user has a wider choice, with the market leader being Nokia. The phones from the Finnish outfit are well made, and come with a good range of new mobile phone accessories. The South Korean manufactures of Samsung and LG are general electronics companies but have mobile phones as part of their business. Finally there is the individual but well respected Sony Eriksson and the American outfit, Motorola.
It could be argued that they all have their specific advantages, but leading the way in innovation is most definitely Apple. The company has had a curious history as it was the first of the designer computer companies, and it seemed that every self respecting graphic art and design operative had to have an Apple Macintosh computer. For years they led the way in graphics but were not compatible with the globally accepted format from Microsoft and the PC desktop. Apple then re-invented itself, continued with its core design computer business, but released the ipod, which took the world by storm. This was the beginning of a revolution in hand held devices which has led to iphones and the huge range of new mobile phone accessories. From docking stations to multi purposes embedded applications, the iphone has created a new wave of followers in a similar way as the original Apple Macintosh. So anyone who enjoys movies, great digital sound and a trendy lifestyle may well go for the iphone. The latest creation is the tablet ipad, which sits somewhere between a laptop and a notebook, but is not a communications tool. There are some who say the ipad is great whilst others question their worth.
Coming along behind the Apple in both phones and tablet computers is Blackberry, which was always thought of as the business persons device. It too has good accessories, but is more into the business applications than the media and entertainment aspects. Whilst iphones have a swipe screen which moves the apps (applications) across, and has a touch screen keypad, the Blackberry has a full QUERTY keypad, which needs nimble fingers to operate. To combat that, they have a pencil device to pick out the keys. Nokia are always going to be popular in the general market and they have the same features as the other more expensive models. The new mobile phone accessories for the Nokia include the stylish covers from cheap manufacturers in China, as well as the headphones and extras which go with building up the complete phone system.
Price is obviously an important factor and the latest Smart phones are not cheap – maybe around £300 to £400. However the new mobile phone accessories are relatively inexpensive with docking stations for as little as £15, and earphones coming in at the lower price of £5 a set.
